Jubilee Hall Trust generates £2.1m in social value

Jubilee Hall Trust generated £2.1m of social value in the year ending March 2020, a £500,000 (31 per cent) increase on the previous year.

The social value calculator has been developed by Sheffield Hallam University in conjunction with Sport England, and measures the benefits to society of physical activity which include improved health, improved subjective wellbeing, increased educational attainment and reduced crime.

The social value impact created depends on the demographics of the individuals and on the accurate recording of their activity levels. Improvements to data capture and greater frequency of customer visits were key factors in the increase in Jubilee Hall Trust’s results, which created a social benefit among 3,997 individuals.

“Over the last two years, we have been working closely with Oxygen Consulting and 4Global to develop this significant measure, and we are delighted with this years’ numbers. But of course it is the powerful impact on individuals that is most important, and the long-term difference that we can make to peoples’ lives, which is especially relevant at a time of a great public health emergency,” said Phil Rumbelow, chief executive of Jubilee Hall Trust.
