New 24-hour student gym to debut in Swansea

Escape Fitness is to deliver a 24-hour workout environment as part of true Swansea – a new ‘Student City’ concept from accommodation provider, true student, that also includes a pizzeria, outdoor riverside spaces and a ‘festival zone’.

The gym’s design is the result of a year-long collaboration between true student, international fitness operator UTime Fitness and Escape Fitness.

Located on the ground floor, the 467sq m facility will feature floor-to-ceiling windows and three distinct areas; a general workout space, a group exercise studio and a small group training space, to host an array of equipment-led classes, including boxing-specific workouts.

In addition to cardio equipment, the general workout area will include a large functional training space complete with three customised Octagon half boxes, a Speed Track supported by an Escape Quad Sled, plus a selection of functional equipment. Two MARS 2.0 screens will provide access to digital coaching and equipment demonstrations 24/7.

This is the first UK site for UTime Fitness, which currently operates gyms in Hong Kong and Thailand. UTime Fitness is owned by Bricks Group, which also owns the true student brand.

“Our model  provides free access to true students, subsidised access to all other students and an affordable monthly fee for everyone else. Our aim is to encourage the whole community, regardless of ability or goal, to lead a more active, happier lifestyle,” says Steven Wileman, EVP Gym Operations at UTime Fitness.
