ukactive Awards 2023 open for sector’s biggest prize

Entres for the ukactive Awards 2023 have launched to celebrate those driving inclusion, innovation and transformation in the physical activity sector.

Taking place at the New Dock Hall within the Leeds Royal Armouries on Thursday 26 October, the awards night celebrates the best of the physical activity sector – from fitness and leisure facilities of all sizes, to suppliers, sports organisations, sector partners and individuals at the top of their game.

There are 15 awards, and all organisations are encouraged to enter with a written submission by 23 June to be in with a chance of winning.

This year’s ukactive Awards ceremony will be held as a standalone event for the first time since 2018, with the Active Uprising taking place at a later date.

Those who are shortlisted or go on to win a ukactive Award are recognised as the best in the sector, building on their reputation among peers and the communities they serve.

“Once again, our members and partners have been truly inspiring in the face of adversity, following the economic challenges of the past year, and we want to recognise the drive and success of our teams,” said Huw Edwards, CEO of ukactive.

“The physical activity sector has achieved so much in 2022-23, and the ukactive Awards is an opportunity to showcase the value that our organisations add to communities across the UK.

“Our sector has never played a more vital part in the role of protecting our nation’s health. With influential projects underway that have huge potential to step into the health space, such as musculoskeletal hubs and the Opening School Facilities programme, we’re really looking forward to seeing a diverse range of entries this year that highlight just how much value our sector adds to society.”
