Green light for new headline attraction at water park

North Yorkshire Water Park, based on the Dawnay Estates at Wykeham near Scarborough, has been given permission to install a new twin zipline across one of its lakes.

A 13m-high tower and 250m long ziplines will be built - by Technical Outdoor Solutions - over the second largest lake on the site, a short distance from the southern peninsular which sees most of the watersports take place. There will also be two climbing walls adorning the tower, set to be clad in Dawnay Estates timber, in line with the rest of the new hub buildings.

“We have invested over £1m into the business over the past year, and the zipline is a key part of our vision for the site, which has enjoyed huge popularity particularly this summer since the major expansion of facilities,” said David Steel, CEO of Dawnay Estates.

In addition to the zipline and new climbing walls, the company recently opened its new ‘251 Events Room’, adding to its private functions and corporate offering.
