London gym brand Gymbox has unveiled a new training concept designed to help women align their workouts with their menstrual cycles. The initiative — called the Bloody Good Workout — aims to empower members to better understand hormonal fluctuations and adapt their training accordingly.
Developed in collaboration with period underwear company WUKA and women’s health specialists The Well HQ, the class recognises that hormone levels and energy can shift significantly throughout the month, affecting both performance and recovery.
Each session combines education with movement. Trainers begin with a short talk from The Well HQ, explaining how the menstrual cycle influences mood, energy and physical capability. Participants then choose from three tailored strength-based workouts designed to match different phases of the cycle:
Classes end with a reflective discussion circle, giving space for members to share experiences, build community and normalise conversations around women’s health.
Hannah Curtis-Nunn, product director at Gymbox, said: ‘Empowerment starts with education. Women shouldn’t have to choose between listening to their bodies and pushing their limits. Bloody Good Workout gives members the knowledge and confidence to train in sync with their cycle — not in spite of it.’
Baz Moffat, co-founder of The Well HQ, added: ‘Understanding your cycle changes how you approach exercise. This programme gives women permission to train smarter and feel stronger throughout every stage.
The Bloody Good Workout is currently running at Gymbox’s Farringdon, Elephant and Castle, and Finsbury Park locations, with plans to expand further later this year.
