New strategy from Sport and Recreation Alliance

The Sport and Recreation Alliance has launched its new strategy that aims to transform lives and bring communities together through the power of sport and recreation.

In 'Support. Recover. Achieve.' the umbrella body for sport and recreation in the UK, which represents 320 members, details how it will support members over the next four years.

Built around four key strategic objectives, the strategy reflects the organisation’s core role as the representative body for sport and recreation but also the need for it to become a catalyst for change in areas where there is still much work to be done.

The organisation will work to showcase the social, economic and health benefits that sport, recreation and physical activity brings, and also wants to help its members to become even more resilient and sustainable helping to find solutions to the big collective challenges facing the sector – from climate change to integrity and good governance.

Promoting diversity, inclusion and collaboration have also been identified as three ways for the sector to lead social change and the body says it will drive action in these areas.
