Everyone Active is calling on individuals across the UK who are making a positive impact in their communities to apply for a new initiative offering valuable support and free access to leisure facilities.
The leisure operator has committed over £60,000 to its new Community Champions scheme, designed to support grassroots projects that build stronger, more connected communities. The scheme will shine a spotlight on those involved in areas such as health and wellbeing, inclusion, mentoring, environmental efforts and cultural initiatives. Only not-for-profit organisations are eligible to apply.
Successful applicants will receive free access to local leisure centre facilities to help advance their work. Everyone Active will also promote these efforts, aiming to strengthen community ties, boost civic engagement and nurture a spirit of giving back.
In addition to receiving support, participants may be shortlisted for the upcoming Champions Awards, set to take place this autumn.
The company is also launching an internal initiative, the Colleague Champions scheme, which will celebrate employees who demonstrate outstanding commitment, innovation, and teamwork in their roles.
Applications for both schemes open on Thursday, May 1, 2025, and close on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Submissions must be made via the dedicated website: www.ea-champions.com.
Jacqui Tillman, Everyone Active’s Aquatics & Wellbeing director and chief executive of the Charitable Trusts, said: 'We are hugely excited to launch the Community Champions scheme, which we believe will have a lasting and meaningful impact on the communities we serve.
'We want to highlight the work of everyday heroes who are changing people’s lives and inspiring others to make a positive impact in the areas that they deliver.
'We encourage local people, community projects and charitable initiatives to get their applications in so we can support the fantastic work that you do.'
Everyone Active also continues to run its well-established Sporting Champions scheme, which helps aspiring athletes reach their full potential by providing access to top-tier training facilities and expert mentorship from Olympians and Paralympians.
Since its launch in 2016, the Sporting Champions scheme has supported the careers of more than 6,000 athletes by granting them access to over 240 leisure centres across the country.
